Learning By Doing
Outward Bound’s internationally acclaimed curriculum approaches team-building and leadership development through experiential learning. We inspire character and group development through wilderness learning expeditions.
At Outward Bound Professional, we’ve adapted these wilderness teaching methods to serve those who are intentional about the culture they develop, exhibit, and reward. By tackling challenging scenarios that involve problem solving, decision-making, communications, and risk-taking, colleagues develop group trust and organizations develop the ability to adapt, grow and succeed. Whether your organization is facing specific challenges, looking to create and deepen relationships, or is simply ready to improve its performance, Outward Bound Professional helps individuals see and achieve their potential as a team.
Working collaboratively with our clients, we assess each group’s strengths and challenges in order to design a program that will get results. Guided by this assessment, we customize programs that engage teams in physical, cognitive and strategic challenges to mimic circumstances found in the workplace, allowing for breakthrough moments of personal and team discovery. There are plenty of options when it comes to choosing a program, initiative, or even location that works for your team. Here are a few examples:
Immersion Expedition Program (3-5 days)
These wilderness-based programs are perfect for organizations looking for accelerated team performance and enriching leadership learning. Most clients choose to do this program in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, but other options are available, such as, the 10,000 Islands in Florida, the Outer Banks in North Carolina and Patagonia in South America. Intensive Insight Program (1-2 days)
These programs deliver powerful team-and relationship-building experiences that would otherwise take weeks, months or years to develop. Participants walk away with better knowledge of their colleagues and more open channels of communication and trust. Due to the fact that these programs are initiative-based, they can take place almost anywhere! However, for our clients close to Atlanta, we highly suggest our state-of-the-art high ropes challenge course located in the city.
Accelerated Insight Program (Four hours)
Although it doesn't seem like a lot of time, we promise our Accelerated Insight sessions will move your employees further along the relationship and team-building continuum than any other four-hour investment. Through the session, participants will gain significant insight into their colleagues and what it takes to create a high performance team. With deeper networking and professional development relationships, comes greater productivity and increased commitment to the organization. These programs can be delivered at a conference center, resort, park, or at your site. Sample Itinerary
Teamwork Starts Now
Tell us about your group’s needs and objectives, and we will custom design an itinerary to best achieve your goals. On a climbing wall or at a retreat center, on a ropes course or in a park, each member of your team will learn to resolve conflict effectively, better manage time, and become more conscientious leaders—all skills they’ll take back to the workplace for lasting, positive change.
