If the cost of a North Carolina Outward Bound course is beyond your means, apply for a scholarship! North Carolina Outward Bound was pleased to offer almost $800,000 in scholarships to students in 2006. Creating a course experience that represents our economic, social, and cultural diversity is central to the mission of Outward Bound. We rely on the generosity of both seasoned and aspiring philanthropists at all giving levels in order to most effectively deliver our powerful mission. These generous supporters make it possible for motivated students without adequate means to be a part of an Outward Bound course. Provide your most recent 1040 tax forms.
Submit a letter of motivation stating your need and why you would like to attend an Outward Bound course (for youth, parents must provide the letter of motivation stating need, while the student has to provide the letter of motivation stating why he or she wishes to attend a course).

Although we generally offer partial scholarships (20-50% of tuition), full scholarships are available through special funds. We also offer interest-free loans.
