Help Us Change Lives

Annually, North Carolina Outward Bound School alumni, parents, staff and friends provide tax-deductible donations that allow our school to offer scholarship assistance to those who otherwise would not be able to attend our courses. Nearly 30% of all students who participate in a wilderness courses receive financial assistance through our scholarship program. Your support allows us to provide the Outward Bound experience so many more deserving people can have the opportunity to learn the value of self reliance, physical fitness, craftsmanship and above all, compassion.

Course tuition varies due to length of course, course activities and course area. Students are also responsible for the clothing and small gear items that are necessary for a successful wilderness experience, as well as the travel costs to and from North Carolina Outward Bound. All these things can deter potential students from being able to have this experience.
